I am very happy to announce that my next project, Corpse Flower, has been accepted for a Saul Zaentz fellowship. The director and lead animator, Ayala, is one of the finest artists I know. She has a ton of integrity and that, my friends, is a rare quality. Wish us well!
Corpse Flower is an animated film about a young man who believes his sick father is turning into a plant. The film is based on an original story and will be a mix of black and white 2D hand drawn animation punctuated with color Strata Paper Animation. The total running time will be approximately 20 min
Remember how reliably cute Bert and Ernie were? Remember the comforting joy of the Muppets? Well that’s all gone now. Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is like Sesame Street on acid and you ought to watch it.
This is (probably) NSFW due to the graphic nature and total fucking weirdness. But you’ll definitely want to show this to at least one of your friends. We all have that one one friend.
By the way, this is coming from the students in my Foundations of Storytelling class and they made a ton of weird suggestions that I’ll be sharing in posts to come.
